The 5th Annual Cowichan Bay Spot Prawn Festival was all about; you guessed it, prawns. Most of us look forward to this time of year on the west coast as spot prawns must be one of the most prized eating experiences during the season. These guys taste great and are huge at about 12 to the pound.
Cooking demonstrations by many of the areas top chefs were well received as was a tasty prawn boil and live music. Johnny Depp or Capt’n Jack Sparrow & Friends were hanging out. All this with the quaint community of Cowichan Bay as the backdrop. Most of us came home with a few pounds of prawns and continued the fine dining for another few days.
Looking forward to next year.
